Sunday 11 October 2015 - Antwerp different
Who thinks to Antwerp, probably thinks first of the port. For once, we ignored the city centre.
In the morning, we visited the recently-opened Red Star Line Museum. This magnificent exhibition gives a good idea of the shipping line that conveyed nearly 2 million refugees to America.
After lunch, we had a guided tour through the port of Antwerp, one of the biggest in the world. An experienced guide explained us the different aspects of the port. Besides his explanations, every participant could use an electronic device to see video reports about what happens inside the companies, things that couldn’t be seen from the street.
